I was trying to find some discount code ( :) ) on google for Sydney Tools and got to this page. I was just one click away to place my order worth around $260. Now I won't shop with them.
Make the effort to go in to a store and you will find if you have done some minimal research on what you are buying the guys there will point you in the right direction. For those who have had a bad experience Instore that have never had a a bad experience at another store then you've just had bad luck. Seriously i have found them knowledgeable and helpful every time I've gone in ????
. I have bought stuff from them since this debacle, but its only cheap easy stuff, bare name brand tools; stuff that if it does go wrong can be warranted easily. I used to recommend them as the dispatching etc was really quick but i generally tell people to avoid them now. Such a shame too, it really makes no business sense for them to give their customers the run around... if the items are faulty they go back to the manufacturer its not like they carry the cost, all that happens is they lose a customer...
Everything I have ever bought has been exactly as they have described, the order has been handled promptly and shipped immediately. The whole process has been perfect.
I did not get "Sorry sir for this mistake, I will get one out to you with overnight аркада казино mail" as I would have in the US, from where I come. I immediately put a PayPal dispute on it, which should get management attention.
Ran through the price per unit then showed me combo price. Explained the different warranty on drill vs battery etc Ending up buying new Makita combo set.
It's a little hard to get modern KTC or Asahi spanners as from what I can tell Amazon Japan won't ship to Australia, but if they would, the prices are fairly reasonable, about the same or a little less than Stahlwille, Gedore etc (and you'd pay the same for a Kincrome set from a store or major seller!!). They are both really nice spanners too.
Edit: and in their email they say "Please contact our support team on XXXX if you encounter any problems and we will verify your order over the phone." – which if you ring them they won't do unless you have those two amounts...
On balance, it would appear that Sydney Tools is a poor company to deal with, but I base this not on the one post wonders but the others with reputation, who berate Sydney Tools.
I went into Brookvale store today looking for some drill bits, (first time buyer at Sydney Tools) sales guy took me to the drill bit area and explained what they had, asked me what I wanted them for show me a good selection of options.
I ordered the 12Ah batteries, and Luke even warned me that perhaps those batteries were a bit big for a cordless drill in terms of comfort and balance. Bigger is always better, so I ordered them anyway and I don’t regret it as it turns out.

I can't agree with that. Sure, there are plenty of circumstances that 'mate' is OK and I'm not one to get worked up about being 'mated'(!)
My advice is to buy a cheapish set first and replace the ones you use a lot/break with good ones (eg stahlwille).
